Vegan high cholesterol – a myth

Non vegetarian people are trying to get excuses and they are saying the vegan recipes contain high colesterol. In fact, the only way to have cholesterol is from animal products and ingredients.

Cholesterol is produced by the animal livers. The plants don`t have livers, so there is impossible  to found cholesterol in plants products. Cholesterol is not a necessary nutrient for a healthy diet. But vegetarians will not say that cholesterol is always bad for our organism. Cholesterol production is normal and healthy for our body, but not an essential part. Unfortunately too much cholesterol increases the risk for stroke and heart disease.

Anyway don`t imagine that being vegan will results in lack of cholesterol for your organism. Liver is the one who stimulates the cholesterol production and it is driven by genetics, diet, and other factors. It is not recommended for a vegan person to eat a lot of hydrogenated vegetable oils, because it can cause the liver to produce more cholesterol than necessary.

In conclusion, the recent studies show that vegans have about 35% lower blood cholesterlo level than omnivores.

Now,  you are free to pick one of our vegetarians recipes from our site and prepare  special dinner for your friend/girlfriend .
